Welcome to the Tax Policy Forum's Tax Estimator

There are currently several proposals for possible changes to Illinois taxes.  The Tax Estimator will help you understand how these changes would affect you and how your taxes under those proposals compare to your current taxes.

The State of Illinois faces significant challenges in fulfilling its responsibilities to raise revenues fairly and adequately and to provide vital services to its citizens.  The Forum has created the Tax Estimator as a resource for Illinois taxpayers to understand both their current taxes and the potential impact of proposed changes to state and local taxes.  Plans that are publicly released and that would result in significant changes to the three major taxes - income, sales, and property - are included in the Estimator.
